On the Cromwell Road between Risca and Crosskeys. It was built as a "gentleman's residence" in the 1930s. Sold for £465 in May 1958. KWJ bought it in about 1956 for £5000. It has six bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and, at that time, approx 2.5 acres of garden, orchard and lawns. The house was built on the top of the old bank of the Ebbw River. The orchard was on the site of an old Roman camp - this area together with the paddock/lawn was sold for housing when K & B moved to Ponthir in 1972. The house is now a residential home for elderly people.

MGC Sept 57
Sept 1957. The last day of the holidays before the start of Lindy's first term at Malvern Girls' College. Although Liz looks cheerful, it's a toss up who was more unhappy at school. The holidays were blighted from the middle date by the thought of returning to school.
